A Message From The Director
January 3, 2023
Happy New Year Excell Families!
I hope your winter break was restful, peaceful, and very blessed! As I reflect on the work we have accomplished together for our students and organization over the past few unprecedented school years, I must admit, it has been very challenging, yet extraordinarily successful!
Moreover, this new year brings a new opportunity to recharge and reset our intentional, amazing, collaborative, and URGENT work of developing quality instruction and increasing learning at Excell Academy while fulfilling our mission of:
“serving Pre-K to 8th grade college-aspiring students with the promise to prepare them for higher education and positive productive citizenship…”
As we “Reset” for the second half of the school year, I would like to remind you of some of our collective values and school policies to ensure we are all working collaboratively and with fidelity in building our purposeful learning community for your student’s success:
“High Expectations for All” – This means all students, all staff, all families, and other stakeholders are responsible for SOARing at Excell Academy:
Self-Control – demonstrating dignity and respect for ourselves, toward each other, and for Excell Academy’s values and policies in our words and actions.
Ownership – accountability for our words, actions, attitudes, as well as the health, safety, and stability of our school environment and culture; being on time for school / class daily (also, consistent, timely, daily attendance is necessary for all grades prek-8th for student success).
Achievement – High expectations for self and others while demonstrating Excellence in our interactions, learning, and work ethic (producing high quality classwork, positive appropriate social interactions, and perseverance in school performance).
Respect – demonstrating School Pride by respecting and following the student dress code and uniform policy, SOAR expectations taught by teachers, and all school policies in the Student / Family Handbook (review Student/Family Handbook at www.ExcellAcademy.org).
Additionally, as we continue to prioritize the health and safety of all, please keep in mind we have not brought back a mask mandate on campus, therefore, I strongly encourage everyone (students, staff, and visitors) to wear masks daily over the next few weeks as COVID-19 and flu cases have increased during the holiday break per the CDC.
Finally, I want to thank you Excell Families for your support and cooperation as we continue to work together to “Change Tomorrows for ‘your’ Children Today!”
Sincerely,
Sabrina Williams
