Regarding Excell Academy staff and families:
Excell stopped using PowerSchool after the 22-23 school year. If you were a staff member, family member, or student prior to 2023, your information may have been involved. Staff only had their name, email, and phone number, unless you were a parent of an Excell student before 2023.
While Excell never stored financial or regulatory information, like Social Security and Driver’s License information on PowerSchool, for parents it did have personal information on it such as contact information, possibly including addresses (physical and email) and phone numbers. Additionally, for students, date of birth and student information such as health alert info may have been exposed.
PowerSchool is utilizing cyber security partners to thoroughly investigate the breach and has a breakdown of their progress at the page linked below.
Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns, and we will do our best to investigate further.
